Funeral services for Mrs. Chris F. Herzberg, Rt. 4, LeMars, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Johnson township. Rev. Gustav Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Mauer funeral home of LeMars in charge of services.

Frances Mildred Port was born on November 3, 1906, on a farm in Plymouth County , Iowa. On February 26, 1935, she was united in marriage with Chris F. Herzberg at the Plymouth Presbyterian church manse near LeMars. To this union was born two sons, one of whom preceded her in death.

Deceased was 46 years, 9 months and 1 day old. She lived in this vicinity her entire life. Death came suddenly on Tuesday, August 4, at her home.

Survivors include the widower, Chris; one son, Armand at home; two brothers, Lloyd Port of Akron and Ross Port of LeMars; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Jans of San Francisco, California and Mrs. Ida Kain of Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by one son, Arlen, her parents, two brothers, Richey and Kenneth.

Mrs. Herzberg was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Johnson township and the Ladies Aid society of that church.
