FRED EILERS

Fred Eilers, Wilmar, Minn., passed away Wednesday morning at Veterans Hospital, Fort Snelling, Minn., following a sickness of two months.

He was born on December 15, 1893, at Harvel, Minn., and came to Plymouth County with his parents and resided in the Ireton vicinity until 1947 when he moved to Wilmar, Minn.

He was united in marriage to Frieda Borchers at LeMars on February 9, 1920.

Mr. Eilers was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Peace Officers Club. He served in World War I and was a member of the Wilmar Police department until a short time before his death. He was also a member of the Vinge Lutheran Church at Wilmar, Minn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, at 2 p.m. in the St. John’s American Lutheran Church with Rev. L.L. Belk officiating, and burial in the City Cemetery under the direction of Luken’s Funeral Home. Friends may call at Luken’s Funeral Home from Friday noon until Saturday noon.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Marland Klohs, LeMars, Mrs. Douglas Freed of Minneapolis; two sons, Wilbur of Ireton and Robert of Hartley; one sister, Mrs. Marie Baack of LeMars; two brothers, Gerhard Eilers of Hawarden and G.E. Eilers of LeMars; and ten grandchildren.
