RODNEY BORCHERS
Rodney Borchers, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Borchers of LeMars, died Wednesday, March 18, at Sacred Heart Hospital where he had entered as a patient five days previously.
He had suffered a heart ailment the past several years, and became seriously sick three weeks ago. Rodney was born May 1, 1936, in Preston township, Plymouth County. He had lived in LeMars since October, 1942, and was employed at Dorr’s hatchery.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Borchers of LeMars; two brothers, Louis, who is in the service; Harlan at home; and eight sisters, Belva, Janice, Velda, Verla, Sherlean, Victoria, Veronica, and Gayle, all at home. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
The body was taken to Mauer’s funeral home. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church on Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the city cemetery under direction of Mauers funeral home. Rev. M.L. Straube will officiate.
