PLACE OF DEATH: Cedar Rapids St. Luke’s Hospital
CAUSE OF DEATH:
DATE OF BIRTH: May 25, 1894
PLACE OF BIRTH: Rome Township, Davison County, South Dakota (a few miles southwest of the town of Ethan; Katie was not born in Mitchell)
PARENTS: Christian and Johanna (Pfitzenmaier) Rumbolz
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 1st MARRIAGE: William Fischer
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE: Herman Wieczorek
OCCUPATION: She lived in LeMars and the area most of her life. While in LeMars, she was an active member of the Sunshine Club. She moved to Chariton in 1967 and to Cedar Rapids early this summer.
SURVIVORS: …three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Bethel) Harrington of Chariton, Mrs. Ervil (Wilma) Ralston of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Leola McKinley of Manly; two brothers, William and Ernest Rumbolz, both of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Beckman of Wessington Springs, S.D., Mrs. Martha Workman of St. Augustine Shores, Fla., and Mrs. Betty Beebe of Seal Beach, Cal. Also three step-children, Mrs. Helen Wegehaupt and Clifford Wieczorek, both of Mount Vernon, S.D., and Norman Wieczorek, of Garden Grove, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Wieczorek was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Opal Weidauer, and several brothers and sisters.
PLACE OF BURIAL: …services were held at the Mauer funeral chapel with Rev. Duane Houston of the Nazarene church at Chariton officiating. Burial will be in the Stanton Township cemetery, rural Merrill, IA.
