OCCUPATION: They farmed in the Granville-Paullina, Iowa area until 1942 when they moved near Remsen to farm. The moved to town in 1956. Mr. Schemmel died July 31, 1992. Mrs. Schemmel resided at the nursing home since March 1988.
SURVIVORS: …include a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Brewer, of Cherokee, Iowa; two sons and their wives, Melvin and Martha of Iowa City, Iowa, and Clemens N. and Joyce K. of Sumner, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Norma) Schemmel of Remsen; 16 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Nick and Cele Jungers, and a sister, Mrs. Bill (Lena) Biever, all of Fredonia, Wis.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …a son, Robert; a grandson, Donald Schemmel; a great grandson, Andrew Hargrave; a brother, Bill Jungers; and a sisters, Mrs. Nick (Frances) Lanser.
