AKRON, Iowa -- Phyllis L. Wilson, 81, of Akron passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at her residence.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Akron, with the Rev. Mike Avery officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Carlsen Funeral Home - Schroeder Chapel in Akron.

Phyllis Lorraine Wilson was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Akron, the daughter of Claire and Mable (Pike) McCorkell. She attended school in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1945.

She married Arnold Feauto in 1946 in Akron. Later, she was united in marriage to Darrell Wilson on Dec. 31, 1959, in Luverne, Minn. From 1960 to 1963, the couple lived in Avoca, Iowa. In 1963, they moved to Azusa, Calif. She worked for Raymore Distribution and later for Stanley Tools. In 1996, after retiring, they moved back to Akron.

She was attending First Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting ceramic cats and traveling. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of more than 48 years, Darrell of Akron; a son, Gary Feauto of Akron; a daughter, Arliss Blodgett of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, Kyristina and her husband, Paul Gottschlich of Temecula, Calif. and their daughter, Sydney, Jerry Blodgett of Wildomar, Calif., Michael Feauto, USAF, stationed in Spangdahlem, Germany, and Stephanie Feauto of Chatfield, Texas; a sister and her husband, Gladys and Cliff Clarey of Akron; sisters-in-law, Virginia Roberts of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Marcia Wilson of Billings, Mont., and Joan McCorkell Six of Covina, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Feauto in 1991; a brother, Edward McCorkell in 1970; a brother-in-law, Leroy Wilson; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Feauto, Jerry Blodgett, Larry Clarey, Joe Clarey, Dennis Clarey, Doug McCorkell, Bill Joseph, Nick Clarey and Jim Feauto.
