Robert M. Lesher

Robert M. Lesher, 80, of Mesa, Ariz,, died Feb. 3, 2008, in Mesa, Ariz., after a lengthy illness.

Robert Merle Lesher was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Sheldon. He served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War for two years. He formerly worked in Des Moines in photography and retail. He then moved to Sioux City and married Jenean Ludwigs. Together they owned and operated a shoe store until they retired and moved to Mesa.

Robert was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, and he and his wife were members of the Broadway Christian Church in Mesa, Ariz. He took vocal lessons at Drake University in Des Moines, and sang faithfully in the church choirs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jenean, of Mesa, Ariz., and his daughter, Kristine Lesher, of Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and aunt.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, Ariz. He will be cremated and burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Resthaven Memory Garden Cemetery in rural Le Mars.

Local arrangements are with Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.
