CLARA ESTHER ELLISON
Clara Esther Ellison, 88, of Hinton died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1988, at Indian Hills Care Center at Sioux City after an illness of several months.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hinton United Methodist church with Rev. Dale Stone officiating. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery at Sioux City. Visitation was from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Monday with the family present from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel at Sioux City. A prayer service was at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ellison, the former Clara Esther Voght, was born Oct. 6, 1899, at Sioux City and attended Central High School. She married Alvin Elllison June 28, 1920, at Sioux City. The couple made their home at Hinton. He died Feb. 26, 1975, at Sioux City.
Mrs. Ellison was a member of the Hinton United Methodist church and United Methodist Women at Hinton. She was active in community affairs and was a life member of Casper Post, American Legion Auxiliary. She served on the Hinton School Board and managed the food service for the Hinton School. She was an attendant for the Hinton Centennial and was a member of the Hinton Senior Citizens Group.
Survivors are a son, Charles F., and two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Corwin and Mrs. Robert (Marianne) Litterick, all of Sioux City; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
