OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio interceptor operator. Following his discharge he returned to LeMars. After their marriage, the couple moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in the early 1950s, where he was employed in the travel division of Atomic Energy Commission. In the late 1950s, they moved to Wichita, Kan., where he was employed with security for Martin-Marrieta Corp., and then with the company in Denver, Colo. In 1965, they returned to LeMars. He was employed with Parkinson Music, where he learned instrument repair. In 1967, he established the first musical instrument repair program at Western Iowa Tech Community College. He was employed with Felton Seed Co. in Sioux City from 1979 until retiring in 1993.
SURVIVORS: …include his wife; a son and his wife, John and Sheri of Lawton, Iowa; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Adam Schultz; and a brother and his wife, Rich and Jane of LeMars.
