MARY M. STEPHENSON

Mary M. Stephenson, 88, of Sioux City, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Zeck of McCook Lake United Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stephenson was born Jan. 26, 1911, in LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Goetzinger) Mersch. She had been a resident of Sioux City for the past 80 years.

She married Maurice G. Stephenson on Sept. 14, 1926, in Dakota City. He died March 26, 1991, in Sioux City.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed genealogy.

Survivors are her son and his wife, Charles and JoAnn of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L.; a granddaughter, Sandra L. and several brothers and sisters.
