C.E. CORKERY, PIONEER OF LE MARS DIES IN MONTANA

Word was received in Le Mars yesterday of the death of Charles E. Corkery, which occurred at a hospital in Glendive, Montana, where he had been sick for some time. His wife, his daughter, Mrs. Con Short, and sons, Charles and Hal, were with him at the end. Another son, Fred, lives in Sioux City, and a daughter, Mrs. Fosters, in Quebec.

Mr. Corkery was 70 years of age and was for many years one of the best known men in Le Mars, being a pioneer liveryman and real estate man. He built the first courthouse in Le Mars in Young & Corkery’s addition with the idea the main town would be platted there.
