Kristine Ann Schnoes, 50, of Remsen, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at her home near Remsen.

Kristine Ann Schnoes was born Dec. 8, 1957, at Le Mars, the daughter of Wayne and Lois (Alesch) Lenertz. Kris was raised in the Remsen area and received her education at St. Mary Catholic School from which she graduated in 1976. She then attended Stewart's School of Cosmetology in Sioux City, graduating in 1977.

On Dec. 3, 1977, she married Ron Schnoes at Remsen. They made their home on the Lenertz family farm near Remsen where she still lived up until the time of her death.

Kris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. What Kris enjoyed the most was spending time with her family, in the home that she loved. She spent eight years as a caregiver to many, which reflected her true nature of compassion for others. She was a homemaker for 14 years and then began her career as an administrative assistant at Wells Dairy in Le Mars, where she was employed from 1993 until 2008.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, church Guild and Christian Mothers Society all of Remsen.

Survivors includue her husband, Ron of Remsen; two daughters, Jessica and her husband Brian Pottebaum of Bondurant, and Jillian Schnoes of West Des Moines; two sons, Ryan of Webster City and Eric of Remsen; one grandson, Will Pottebaum of Bondurant; her mother, Lois and her husband Earl Loutsch of Remsen; three sisters, Laurie and her husband Paul Ritz of Bloomington, Minn., Connie and her husband Rick Pavek of Faribault, Minn., and Diane Lenertz of Lytton; one brother, Dick and his wife Susan Lenertz of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; two stepsisters and their husbands, Joanne and Roger Hubner of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Mary and Mike Price of Sioux City; one halfbrother, Bob and his wife Leslie Loutsch of Remsen; and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Schnoes of Marcus.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Lenertz; a stepbrother, Jack Loutsch; and father-in-law, Ed Schnoes.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen. The Rev. William McCarthy with Msgr. Nicholas J. Ruba and the Rev. Timothy Johnson will be concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Remsen.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be a rosary at 3 p.m. by St. Mary Guild and Christian Mothers Society, a living rosary by St. Mary High School students at 4 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., all at St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen. The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen is in charge of arrangements.

Casketbearers will be Wayne, Brad and Matthew Lenertz, Gary Reuter, Rod Schiltz, Jim Heuertz, Terry Tuttle, Clark Matzen, Derek Langel.
