BERNARD DRECKMAN
Bernard Dreckman, 75, died Sunday at the Sacred Heart hospital following a six-day illness. A lifelong resident of Plymouth county, he was a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.D. Fisch will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.
The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Dreckman was born July 8, 1883, in Plymouth county. He married Christina Deters on September 13, 1905, at LeMars. They lived on a farm near LeMars until retiring in 1951, when they moved to LeMars.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Frank Rolfes of Akron, Ia., and Miss Louise Dreckman, Mrs. Harold Baldes and Mrs. Richard Schafer, all of LeMars; two sons, Rudy and Andrew, both of LeMars; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dreckman was preceded in death by his wife, and two sons, Marcellos and a son in infancy; also by two brothers, John and Frank; and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Determan and Mrs. Anna Reigia.
Pallbearers will be Henry Ahlers Sr., Leo Langel, Joseph C. Rolfes, Al Orban and Emil Koopman.
