CAUSE OF DEATH: …after a long illness.
DATE OF BIRTH: Nov. 3, 1929
PLACE OF BIRTH: Steen, Minnesota
PARENTS: Frank “Box” and Caroline “Bricky” Richards
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 1st MARRIAGE: Donna M. Laehle, Nov. 16, 1953, Hinton, IA
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE:
OCCUPATION: He lived most of his life in Hinton but spent time at a summer home in Minnesota and a winter home in Texas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He worked for Sioux Tools and owned and operated a café in Hinton. Later he owned and operated the Highway 75 Truck Stop and the Sioux Harbor Truck Stop. Mrs. Richards died Dec. 17, 1994, in Sioux City.
SURVIVORS: …include three daughters and their husbands, Connie and Norman Thoreson of Lawton, Iowa, Sue Ann and Jeffrey Sherman of Hinton and Cheryl and John Redick of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Michael and Laura of Lawton and Richard F. Jr. and Misty Lee of Sioux City; his mother, Caroline Richards of Hinton; two brothers and their wives, Darvin and Mildred and Donald and JoAnn, all of Hinton; a sister, Darlene Roetman and her husband, DeWayne of Gowrie, Iowa; and 14 grandchildren.
