Shawn (Langel) Kaiser, 49, of Jacksonville, Fla., died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at her home in the arms of her husband, Mark Kaiser.

Shawn Elizabeth Langel Kaiser was born Dec. 17, 1958, the daughter of Larry and Lynn Langel. Shawn was a 1977 graduate of Le Mars Gehlen High School.

She had spent the last 31 years of her life devoted to her loving husband, Mark, married Sept. 26, 1981, and to raising her three beautiful children, Nicole (24), Laura (22), and Alex Kaiser (20).

Shawn could be best described as the person who lived every day to its fullest. She lit up everyone around her with the love and happiness that she carried with her each and every day. She was the Mother that everyone wished they could have and she truly made Butch and Lynn proud. Shawn was always there with open arms, dedicating her entire life to her family and friends. She was grateful for any time that she was fortunate enough to spend with all of them.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Tim and Kim Langel of Le Mars, Terri and Dan Seei of Chicago, Ill. Pat and Patty Langel of West Des Moines, Mike and Yumi Langel of El Paso, Texas, Mary and Dan Newman of Woodstock, Ill., and Sara Langel of West Des Moines.

Shawn was preceded in death by her parents, Larry "Butch" and Lynn Langel; her grandparents, Theodore Langel, Les Donlin and Herb and Ruth Weber; her infant sister, Ann and her uncle, Dick Weber.

An ocean-side service will be held Sunday near Shawn and Mark's home in Jacksonville.

We all love and miss you, Shawnee, but we will smile thinking of you forever. You will never be forgotten.
