Alfred Sommervold

Funeral services were held October 9, 1970 for Alfred Sommervold, 78, of rural Akron, Iowa. Mr. Sommervold died October 7 at the Hawarden Hospital. The services were held at the Union Creek Lutheran Church north of Akron, the Rev. David J. Roy and burial was in the Church cemetery. Nilsen Funeral Home of Alcester was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Sommervold was born March 20, 1892 In Spink Townshlp, Union County, S.D. He married Olivia Abrahamson September 29, 1916 In Vermilion, S.D. and they resided on the same farm 9 miles north of Alcester 55 years.
Survivors Include his widower, sons, Alvin of Akron, Arlo of Sioux Falls; daughters, Mrs. Jay (Opal) Robertson of Marcus, Mrs. Henry (Pearl) Wilkens of Alcester eight grandchildren; brothers Sivert of Alcester, Sigvold of Akron, Ludwig of Grant Park, Illinois, Martin of Vermillion; sisters, Mrs. Hilda Klemme and Mrs. Roy Abraham of Akron, aid Mrs. Dallas Burkholder of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
