LE MARS, Iowa—Joseph Dean Oetken, 11-month-old son of Todd and Kathi (Erdmann) Oetken of Le Mars, died Monday at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S. D., following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Andrew Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in St Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Brunsville, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Joseph was born Aug. 15, 1999, in Sioux City.

Survivors include his parents of Le Mars; two brothers, Tyler and Seth, both at home; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Oetken of Le Mars; maternal grandparents, Ben and Arlene Erdmann of Le Mars; paternal great-grandparents, Kenneth and Henrietta Farmer of Brunsville and Hazel Farmer of Le Mars; maternal great-grandmother, Marguerite Allison of Sioux City and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Alwayne Oetken; paternal great-grandparents, George and Clara Oetken; and maternal great-grandparents, John and Rose Erdmann and Arthur Allison.
