KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Lenore Heyl, 78, of Kingsley died Monday, March 18, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, with the Rev. Duane Meisner officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Lenore was born March 30, 1923, in Wishek, N.D., the daughter of Peter and Lydia (Just) Ketterling.

She married Marvin Heyl on Dec. 19, 1946, in LaMoure, N.D. The couple lived in LaMoure for a short time before moving to Hatton, N.D., where they lived for three years. They then moved to Le Mars, Iowa, where Lenore worked at Randall's Super Valu Grocery Store for many years. She and Marvin later managed the Motel 6 at Sergeant Bluff and later managed the Interstate Apartments in South Sioux City. In May 1991, the couple moved to Kingsley.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, First Lutheran Ladies Aid and Senior Citizens Golden Center in Kingsley.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin of Kingsley; a daughter and her husband, Sylvia and Stan Lindgren of Pierson, Iowa; three grandchildren, Michael "Mike" Lindgren, Kimberly "Kim" Lindgren and Nicole "Nikki" Lindgren and her fiancee, Aaron Foster; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Dreysen Lindgren; six brothers, Benjamin Ketterling of Willmar, Minn., Ervin Ketterling of Marion, N.D., Herbert Ketterling of Greeley, Colo., Elmer Ketterling of Leola, S.D., Wilbert Ketterling of Wheaton, Minn., and Raymond Ketterling of Billings, Mont.; six sisters, Ellen Nelson of LaMoure, N.D., Esther Haugen of Verona, N.D., Irene Hildahl of LaMoure, Norma Kale of Verona, Sara Peterson of Westminster, Colo., and Katherine Hodem of LaMoure; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Oscar, John and Albert.
