WILLIAM G. DOANE, 76, a retired farmer of near Hinton, died Monday morning in a LeMars hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Doane was born October 13, 1862, at Rochelle, Ill. He came to Plymouth county with his parents in 1876. They settled then on a farm northwest of LeMars. He married Christine Dudden October 19, 1884, in LeMars. Mr. Doane subsequently farmed in Plymouth and Woodbury counties. Mrs. Doane died on a farm near Hinton in 1934.

Surviving are two sons, Harry of Baltimore, Md., and Allen of near Hinton; a daughter, Mrs. Clara Burnette, also of near Hinton; four brothers, Delbert of Sacramento, Cal.; Irving of Bellingham Bay, Wash.; Manuel of Springfield, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Hill and Mrs. Mabel Bennett, both of Portland, and Mrs. Mae Judkins of Eugene, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in Trimble Methodist church in Sioux City. Rev. Willis Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park cemetery under the direction of Barnett’s funeral home of Merrill. The body will be at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Burnett, this afternoon and will remain there until time of services.

Mrs. Herbert Burnett received word of the death of her father, Mr. Doane, at the Zimmerman Home in LeMars, Monday morning. Mr. Doane had just recently returned from Iowa City, Ia., where he was a surgical patient.

Funeral services for William G. Doane, 76, who died in the Zimmerman home in
LeMars last Monday, at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Trimble Methodist Church in
Sioux City, with Rev. Willis G. Smith officiating. Burial was in Graceland
cemetery. Surviving are two sons, Harry, of Baltimore, Md., and Allen, of
this place; one daughter, Mrs. Clara Burnett, of this vicinity; four
brothers, Delbert of Sacramento, Calif.; Irving of Bellingham Bay, Wash.;
Manuel, Springfield, Ore.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hill and Mrs. Mabel
Bennett of Portland, and Mrs. May Judkins of Eugene, Oregon; thirteen
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
