CHRISTINA KALLSEN

Mrs. Christina (Tena) Kallsen, 81, LeMars, died Sunday at the Happy Siesta Retirement home at Remsen after an illness of over 30 years.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Preston Township, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. James Sandvik officiating.

Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under the direction of the Mauer funeral home, LeMars.

The former Christina Helen Marie Schmidt, she was born Nov. 6, 1889, in Illinois, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schmidt.

She was married to Albert Kallsen and was a homemaker. She had resided in Plymouth county most of her life. She was a resident of the Plymouth County Home for many years.

She was a member of the Lutheran church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Hanna Schamens last January and a sister, Mrs. Mina Rounds.

Survivors are a son Alvin of St. Cloud, Minn.; a daughter, Linda Callhan of Richland, Mo.; a twin sister, Mrs. Hannah Wublen of Emden, Ill.; four half sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Emma) Molzen of LeMars, Mrs. George (Ella) Frerichs, Mrs. Hilda Andresen and Mrs. John (Tillie) Erks, all of Akron; three half brothers, John and William, both of LeMars, and Elmer of Akron; and 12 grandchildren.
