OCCUPATION: The couple lived in Rosemount, Hastings and Willmer, Minn., before returning to Remsen in 1971. She taught at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa, and later worked at Marian Health Center in Sioux City. She also was a volunteer emergency medical technician in Remsen for 11 years. In 1991, they moved to Sioux Falls where she was employed with Avera McKennan Hospital as a registered nurse counselor. She also served as a grief counselor and started and facilitated grief support groups and cancer support groups. She was active in CISM (Crisis Management) and helped train and organize CISM teams throughout South Dakota.
