OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Navy from 1936 to 1941 at Great Lakes, Ill. He re-entered the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945. Following his discharge, he worked for Russell Electric and Chicago Motor Coach before moving to Nebraska, where he farmed. In 1949, the couple moved to Akron, where he farmed until retiring in 1981.
SURVIVORS: …include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Bettie and Dick Closter of LeMars, Iowa, and Ellen and Tom McMillan of Lincoln; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Rachel Redmond of Sioux City.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …seven sisters, Lucille, Bertha, Georgette, Corinne, Priscilla, Bernadette and Loretta; three brothers, Leo, Reno and Roger; and a great grandson.
PLACE OF BURIAL: St. Joseph’s Cemetery, rural Akron, Iowa
