SURVIVORS: …include two sons and their wives, Arlen and Roxanna Lahrs of Lincoln, and Warren and Doris Lahrs of Hinton; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers and their wives, Chester and Mildred of rural Merrill, Iowa, Vernon and Jean of Omaha, and Dale and Wilma of Marysville, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Viola Lang of LeMars, and Elfrida Schoenrock of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.

Wilfred H. Lahrs Wilfred H. Lahrs, 84, of Sioux City died Saturday, Sept. 30. 2000, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Ch-urch in rural Hinton, Iowa, with the Rev. David Kottlowski officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Mr. Lahrs was born May 11, 1916, in Dakota City, Neb., the son of Fred G. and Anna (Hansen) Lahrs. He grew up on the family farm in rural Lawton, Iowa. He married Leona Schoenrock Oct. 9, 1940, at Trinity Lutheran Church. She died April 8, 1999. He resided in the Hinton area where he farmed, drove school bus, and operated the Mobil tank wagon until his retirement. He played softball on the Dr. Pepper team in Le Mars for several years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was active in Trinity Lutheran Fellowship Club, Lutheran Layman's League, and served in many offices of the church. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and bowling. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Arlen and Roxanna Lahrs of Lincoln, and Warren and Doris Lahrs of Hinton; a daughter and her husband, Colleen and Curt Keiser of Blackhawk, S.D.; eight grandchildren, Kathy Jo Lahrs, Jeff Thompson, Kourtnie Lahrs, Brent Thompson, Lori Woods, Jodi Cook, Ben Rehling and Katie Rehling; five great-grandchildren; three brothers and their wives, Chester and Mildred of rural Merrill, Iowa, Vernon and Jean of Omaha, and Dale and Wilma of Marysville, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Viola Lang of Le Mars, and Elfrieda Schoenrock of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lahrs, and a sister. Pallbearers will be Bruce Lahrs, Steve Lahrs, Curt Schoenrock, Phil Schoenrock, Doug Schoenrock, Kendall Lang, Dan Lang and Dave Lang.
