PLACE of BIRTH: near LeMars, Iowa
PARENTS: son of Nicholas and Dorothy (Kunkel) Kneip
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Mary Kelly, Sept. 9, 1952
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Oyens, Iowa
OCCUPATION: Served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. The couple farmed for several years west of Oyens, moving to town in 1963. He then started a partnership as a carpenter with Redi-Bilt Homes, eventually taking over and operating the business for many years.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; a son John of Sioux City; a daughter, Karen Plendl of LeMars; a granddaughter, Erika Plendl; his father of Oyens; three brothers and their wives, Gerald and Loree and Robert and Ruth, all of LeMars, Richard and Joyce of Oyens; and a sister and her husband, Cindy and Delbert Berkenpas of LeMars.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: his mother and a sister, Donna Kneip.
