DATE of BIRTH: Feb. 22, 1916
PLACE of BIRTH: in Preston Township, Plymouth County, Iowa
PARENTS: daughter of Fred and Etta (Tapper) Klemme
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: 1ST: Arthur Popken, Sept. 20, 1939. Mr. Popken died Jan. 30, 1954.
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: 2ND: Clause Kruse, June 14, 1959, at St. John's Lutheran Church in LeMars.
OCCUPATION: With her first husband they farmed in Plymouth County. After her second marriage, they made their home on the Kruse Century farm until moving to LeMars in October 1999. Mr. Kruse died March 13, 2001. She had been a resident of Indian Hills Care Center in Sioux City since March 2001.
SURVIVORS: include two daughters, Lennice and Don Farnham of Hillsboro, Ore., and Dorothy Ann and Fred Goettsch of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Duane and Sharon Popken of LeMars; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers and their wives, Alvin and Anna, Leonard and Alwayne, and Lowell and Vivian, all of LeMars, and Harvey and Betty of Akron, Iowa.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: three brothers, Norman, Arnold, and Benard in infancy.
PLACE of BURIAL: St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Craig, Iowa
