PARENTS: son of Al and Kathryn (Freking) Koopman
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Phyllis Freymann on June 15, 1949
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: in Chicago
OCCUPATION: He moved to LeMars with his family as a child. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in the European Theater. The couple farmed for many years in the Brunsville, Iowa and LeMars areas. He also was employed with the Struble Elevator for several years.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; a son, Don of LeMars; two daughters, Anne and Theresa Koopman, of LeMars; four grandchildren; a great granddaughter; a sister, Esther Schnepf, of LeMars; three brothers, Marcel and his wife Marlys of Kingsley, Iowa; Les and Mark and his wife, Bernice, all of LeMars; two sisters-in-law, Darlene and Sylvia Koopman, both of LeMars; and many nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: two grandchildren; Laura Lee and Shane Koopman; a sister, Harriet Goerdt; two brothers, Bud and Wayne; and two brothers-in-law, Elmer Schnepf and Al Goerdt.
