MRS. MILTON SPIES

Hinton special—Mrs. Milton Spies, 70, of Hinton died Saturday night at St. Luke’s hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hinton United Methodist Church. Rev. Russell Tarver of Melbourne United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Melbourne cemetery under the direction of the Heaton-Westcott funeral home in Sioux City.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Arthur Schult will officiate.

Mrs. Spies, the former Kathryn Rush, was born Jan. 3, 1907, in Akron. She was married April 25, 1924, in Sioux City. The couple lived in the Merrill-Hinton vicinity.

She was a member of Melbourne United Methodist Church and United Methodist women in Melbourne.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Dick of Hinton; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Lois) Lang, Mrs. Delmar (Peggy) Carroll and Mrs. Don (Joanne) Richards, all of Hinton; a brother, George of Lincoln; three sisters, Mrs. Lenore Phillips of Hinton, Mrs. Oscar (Arlene) Wycoff of LeMars and Mrs. Howard (Martie) Sheetz of Las Vegas, Nev.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be grandson, Curt Richards, Michael Carroll, Dennis Carroll, Tim Lang, Jim Albert, Bruce Anderson.

Two grandsons, Larry Kimsey and David Junck will be honorary pallbearers.
