HINTON, Iowa -- Glenn W. Schneider, 91, of Hinton died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Bickford Cottage in Sioux City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Melbourne United Methodist Church in rural Hinton, with the Rev. Peg Ellingson officiating. Following the service Saturday, the body will be cremated. Graveside services will be at a later date in Floyd Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.
Glenn was born Oct. 23, 1916, in Hinton, the son of John C. and Anna Bertha (Julch) Schneider. He graduated from Hinton High School.
He was a member of Melbourne United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Inez Shirk of Milwaukee, Wis.; five nieces, Margaret (Jerry) Meyers of Woodbridge, Va., Linda (Eldon) Gries of Des Moines, Edith Ann VanEvera of Tacoma, Wash., Phyllis VanEvera of Hinton and Marilyn Shirk of Milwaukee, Wis.; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothea VanEvera; two nephews, John Shirk and Richard VanEvera; and a niece, Donna VanEvera Holcomb.
