OCCUPATION: She moved with her family to LeMars and attended LeMars schools. She attended normal training at Westmar College in LeMars, then taught in the area rural schools. The couple farmed near Marcus for many years.
SURVIVORS: include her husband; two sons and their wives, Francis and Jane of Alton, Iowa, and Paul and Donna of LeMars; a sister and her husband, Joyce and Glen Hakeman of Sutherland, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: her parents and a granddaughter, Gina Hinspeter
