Emma H. Frerichs

Emma Helena Frerichs, 88, of Akron, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999, at
Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden, Iowa.

Services were held Saturday, February 20, 1999, at St. John Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Preston Township, rural Akron, with the Reverend William
Kallestad officiating. Burial was in St. John Cemetery. Maurer-Johnson Funeral
Home, Le Mars, was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Frerichs was born April 17, 1910, in Preston Township, the daughter, of
Carl C. and Margaretta (Harms) Frerichs. She attended rural school She lived
at home and cared for her parents with her sister, Minnie for many years. Miss
Frerichs also cleaned for neighbors. She later moved to Akron. She entered
Hillcrest Health Care Center in December 1998.

Miss Frerichs was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she
taught Sunday School, and was a member of Hope Circle.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Claus and George; and four sisters,
Meta Siebels, Anna Kroepel, Hilda Schmidt and Minnie Frerichs.
