OCCUPATION: They farmed near Remsen for several years before he worked for Plymouth County in road construction and maintenance, retiring in 1975 after 40 years. He had resided at the Happy Siesta Retirement Home in Remsen since April 1, 1994.
SURVIVORS: include his wife of Remsen; two daughters and their husbands, Delia and Milo Homan of Remsen, and Alice and Rick Ferdig of Sioux City; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: a daughter, Mary Kestel; a son, Raymond; a grandson, Raymond Mathison; a sister, Margaret Achen; and six brothers, John in infancy, and Bernard, Michael, Nicholas Jr., Clarence and Lawrence.
