TENA DOERING

Tena Doering, 88, rural LeMars native and lifelong Plymouth county resident, died Saturday (May 11, 1985) at Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars where she had resided two years.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church in rural LeMars with Rev. Jack Hebard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The former Tena Renken, she was born July 8, 1896, in Grant Township to John M. and Margaretha Fehrmann Renken. She married Otto Doering July 17, 1927, in Grant Township. The couple farmed in Grant Township until moving to LeMars in 1965. Her husband died Aug. 3, 1965. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors are a brother, Carl Renken, of LeMars; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Meta) Ahrendt of Spokane, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
