Marie Helen Hansen, 96, of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at home with her family at her side. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel (formerly Nelson ~ Berger Morningside Chapel). A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of The Nativity with Reverend Gerald Feierfeil celebrating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marie was born on June 20, 1910, in Le Mars, Iowa to Peter and Johanna (Rolling) Reisch. She attended St. Joseph School in Le Mars and Samuels School of Cosmetology in Sioux City.

She married Marvin Hansen on March 20, 1943, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. He died on February 20, 1991.

Marie is survived by a daughter; Sandra Whatley and her husband Sam of Indianapolis, IN; sons, Jim Hansen and his wife Carol of Sioux City, IA and Dennis Hansen and his wife Susan of Sergeant Bluff, IA; 9 grandchildren, Nicole Suchyna, Stephen Whatley, Michael Whatley, Scott Hopper, Jacob Werthman, Jacque White, Nicole Chartier, Stephanie Hansen, and Stacie Hansen; and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers, Nicholas, John, Frank, Al, and Raymond; 3 sisters, Helen Rykhus, Emma Jean Rountree, and Elizabeth Larson; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Ann Hopper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent for Masses at Church of the Nativity or Hospice of Siouxland.

Marie Helen (Reisch) Hansen, 96, of Sioux City, and a Le Mars area native, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at her residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Nativity in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday), with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.
