PHILLIP D. RUSH
MERRILL, Iowa --- Special: Funeral services for Phillip D. Rush, 49, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery under direction of the Luken Funeral Home of LeMars. The Olsen-Halweg American Legion Post will perform military rites.
Mr. Rush died Wednesday at his home in Merrill.
Mr. Rush was born Sept. 14, 1916, at Elk Point, S.D. He was employed with the Swift & Co. Packing Plant in Sioux City. Mr. Rush served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Olsen-Halweg Post.
Survivors include the widow, Gladys; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Smith, Sioux City, and Mrs. Phyllis Janes, Merrill; three sons, Fred and David, both at home, and Timothy, serving in the U.S. Navy; his step-mother, Mrs. John Rush, Merrill; three sisters, Mrs. Cecil Flynn, Marshall, Minn., Mrs. Frae Reinhold, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Joseph Delutri, Merrill; and five grandchildren.
