Cami Jean Hoffman, 46, of Remsen, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at her home in Remsen after a courageous battle with cancer for 11 1/2 years.
Cami Jean was born May 31, 1961, in Le Mars, the daughter of Richard and Carol (Ruden) Weber. Cami was raised in Remsen and received her education at Remsen-Union School from which she graduated in 1979. She then lived at Le Mars, where she attended Le Mars Beauty College and received her degree of cosmetology. She then worked in the Le Mars area.
On July 4, 1981, she married Ron Hoffman at Remsen. They made their home in Le Mars and moved to Remsen in 1991. They owned and operated C.J.'s Drive Inn in Remsen for 16 years, having just sold the business in May 2007. Cami put in many long days, but she so enjoyed her customers and employees.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and church Guild in Remsen. She enjoyed scrapbooking and watching her boys play sports. Her life was her family.
Survivors include her husband, Ron and two sons, Andy and Alex, all of Remsen; Her mother, Carol Weber of Remsen; two sisters and their husbands, Christi and Terry Hoffman and their three children, Corey, Katie, Kendra and their granddaughter, Callie, all of Le Mars, and Carla and David Smith of Indianola; one brother, Rick Weber and his wife Lisa and their three children, Mandi, Jacie and Travis all of Alton; her grandmother, Toni Ruden of Remsen; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who were all very special to Cami. Although Cami was mother of two sons, she had many sons and daughters through the years that thought of her as their second mother and she loved each and every one of them.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel in infancy; her father, Richard Weber; a nephew, Kyle Hoffman in infancy; maternal grandfather, John Ruden; and paternal grandparents, Herb and Ruth Weber.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Remsen. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday, at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen were there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. by St. Mary's Guild and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Casketbearers will be Jeremy Ahlers, Cody Bunkers, Reggie Arens, Russell Staab, Kyle Ortmann, Justin Tentinger, Derek Ahlers and Jared Anderson.
