James D. Matheny Jr., age 36, of Le Mars, formerly of Topeka, Kan., died Sunday, July 1, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Seney.

James was born to Caroline and James Matheny on July 5, 1970. He married Carrie Foreman in August 1992. Two children, James III and Cheyenne, were born from that union. In October 2002 he married Wendy Golladay, and one son, Kaleb, was born from that union.

James had a passion for working on automobiles. He had a love for cooking. He loved life, his family, especially his children, and friends.

He worked for several Le Mars restaurants. He was currently working for Golden Crisp in Sioux Center.

He is survived by his children, sons James III and Kaleb Matheny and a daughter, Cheyenne Matheny, all of Le Mars; his parents, James and Caroline Matheny of Topeka, Kan.; and three sisters, Charline Matheny, Mary Ann Lewis, both of Topeka and Patricia Henderson of Garland, Texas.

Memorial services will be Friday, July 6, at 12 noon at the Temple of Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. of Topeka. A prayer service will be held in Le Mars at First Baptist Church on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
