Erma M. Huff, 90, of Le Mars, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Erma Mary Huff was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Le Mars, the daughter of James and Johanna (Lauters) Roddy. She married Wilbur Huff on Dec. 28, 1935 in St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars and was a life long member.

After 65 years of marriage, the love of her life, Wilbur, died Aug. 20, 2001. Her daughter Susan Mulvany died Dec 23, 1963. Her brother, Bernard Roddy, died Sep 25, 1969.

She was active in the lives of her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reading, cooking, family reunions, and was an avid baseball fan. She was famous for her peach pie, cinnamon rolls, positive attitude, and personal knowledge of her large extended family that included the descendants of the Bortscheller, Lauters and Roddy clans.

Survivors include Jim and Marian Roddy of Waldorf, Md., and Nancy and Jerry Reiter of Pocahontas and 14 nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her cousins Ronald and Jo Ellen Cronin, Rita and Jerry Ostert, and her aunt Laura Lauters, all of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilbur; a daughter Susan Mulvany; and a brother Bernard.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Jim Tigges will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Le Mars. There will be one hour of visitation at the church prior to Mass on Wednesday.
