BERESFORD, S.D. -- Nancy Sue Jahn, 51, of rural Beresford passed away Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Sanford Vermillion Hospital in Vermillion, S.D., after a brief battle with cancer.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Elk Point, S.D., with the Revs. Mary Feistner, Sandy Aakre and Richard Luttmann officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Resthaven Memory Gardens at Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Monday, with the family present after 5 p.m., at Carlsen Funeral Home-Schroeder Chapel, 200 Main Street, Akron, Iowa.

Nancy Sue Jahn was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Lois (Rosenbaum) Jahn. Nancy graduated from Alcester High School in 1974 and from Western Iowa Tech in 1975. She worked for Load King in Elk Point from 1975 to 1996 and from 1999 to present. She worked for Aaladin Industries, Steel Eagle Division in Elk Point from 1996 to 1999.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Alcester, S.D. She loved to work with her horses and being with family.

Nancy is survived by two sisters, Barb Baisden and her husband Dwight "Ike" of Vermillion and Joyce Oberg and her husband, Joel of Akron; a brother, Danny Jahn and his wife, Beverly of Armour, S.D.; a special brother, Carlos Baisden and his wife, Vicki of Sioux City; six nieces, Farrah Baisden and Janelle Hillrichs and her husband, Steven all of Akron, Kelly Cottrell and her husband, Mike of Beresford, Amber and Sarah Jahn of Canton, S.D. and Jennifer Oberg of Akron; two nephews, Andy Jahn and his wife, Julie of Beresford and Darrell Oberg of Akron; a special nephew, Karlis Baisden of Vermillion; four great nephews, Jay and Tanner Baisden and Cody Hillrichs, all of Akron and Blake Cottrell of Beresford; and a great niece, Tylese Baisden of Akron.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lois; and her grandparents, Frank and Minnie Rosenbaum and William and Emma Jahn.
