Mrs. Emil T. (Margaret) Hansen, 89, longtime LeMars resident, died Nov. 1, 1984, at Brentwood Care Center, LeMars, after a long illness. She lived at Brentwood the last year and a half.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, LeMars. Rev. Francis Staber will officiate and burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday, with Christian Mothers Society rosary at 4 p.m., parish rosary at 8 p.m. and Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 8:30 p.m.

She was born Oct. 1, 1895, at Alton to Peter and Katherine Delperdang Gaul. She married Emil T. Hansen Nov. 28, 1916, at Alton. The couple farmed near Granville and moved to Minnesota where they farmed several years. They then moved to a farm near Oyens and into LeMars in 1942. Mr. Hansen died in May 1983.

Survivors are six daughters: Mrs. Walter (Irene) Lemen of Sibley; Mrs. Clifford (Mary Ann) Streff of Slayton, Minn.; Mrs. Gordon (Dolores) Ludwig of Viborg, S.D.; Mrs. Louis (Rita) Potebaum of Yuba City, Calif.; Sister Margaret Hansen O.S.F., of Maquoketa; and Mrs. Rodney (Mildred) Gearke, of Struble; seven sons: Cletus of Fort Dodge; Lawrence and Jerome, both of LeMars; Ambrose of Waterloo; Alfred of Evansdale, Iowa; Leonard of Remsen; and Emil Jr., of Slayton; 60 grandchildren; and 105 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gerald, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
