ALBERT BOYSEN
Albert O. Boysen, 62, who was injured April 11, in a tractor accident on his farm in Grant township, died Sunday at Floyd Valley Hospital.
Relatives and friends held a plowing bee at the farm Saturday. Mr. Boysen had been hospitalized since the accident.
The Daily Sentinel reported at the time Mr. Boysen had driven the tractor to a field about 8 a.m.
He apparently had been run over by the tractor in the morning, but wasn’t found until 5:30 that afternoon when his wife returned home from work in LeMars and heard him calling for help.
He was discovered face down in the field and the tractor was entangled in the fence. It was reported at the time Mr. Boysen suffered a cracked pelvis.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant township. Rev. Robert Reitz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Boysen was the current commander of the Brunsville American Legion Post 724. He also was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and American Lutheran Church Men.
Mr. Boysen was born May 14, 1910, at Bridgewater, S.D.
He came to Plymouth County after his marriage Dec. 2, 1945, to the former Edna Heeren.
Surviving are his wife, Edna; two daughters, Carol Jean of Iowa City and Lois Ann of Sioux Falls; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Dora) Kipp of Salem, S.D., and two brothers, Alfred and Herman, both of Montrose, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alvina Biehl Boysen, an infant son and one brother.
