JUNE Y. BOWERS

MERRILL, Iowa --- June Y. Bowers, 63, of Stuart, Fla., formerly of Merrill, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at her residence.

Services were held April 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stuart. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach, Fla.

Mrs. Bowers was born April 9, 1936, in LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Valeria (Ross) Yoerger. Raised in Merrill, she graduated from Liberty Consolidated School.

She married George W. “Jerry” Bowers on Dec. 26, 1955, in Ellendale, Iowa. The couple had resided in Stuart for 31 years.

She was president of Art Associates of Martin County, Fla. She was a member of American Watercolor Association, and National Watercolor Association. Some of her commissioned works are displayed in the corporate offices of Disney World and Orlando Airport.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Anne and John Tilton of Alachua, Fla., and Patricia and David Houston of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Thomas and his wife, Maree of Lennox Head, NSW, Australia, and Bob of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters and their husbands, Joan and Gene Harbeck of Bronson, Iowa, and Jeanie and Clayton Nemmers of LeMars; five brothers, Leonard Yoerger and his wife, Pat of Eagan, Minn., Leon Yoerger and his wife, Pat, Dr. Stan Yoerger and his wife, Joan, and Gordon Yoerger and his wife, Ruth, all of Merrill; and Ron Yoeger of Reseda, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
