Funeral Services for Gene Gabel, 53, Akron, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran church, Craig.
Rev. Ernest Christensen will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Schroeder funeral home, Akron.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gabel died Tuesday morning at Sioux City St. Luke west hospital after a brief illness.
He was born May 11, 1915, at Akron and farmed in the area most of his life. He was married Dec. 18, 1937, at Craig to Loris Gronemeyer.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Gene, Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Wendell Oltmanns, LeMars, and Deborah at home; two brothers, James and Glenn, both of Akron; a sister Mrs. Lois Spinkelink, Buena Park, Calif., and four grandchildren.
