GORDON ELZENGA
DEAD AT AGE 29
RITES TUESDAYGordon Elzenga, Armel Acres, an active member of the LeMars Jaycees and assistant manager of the Farm and Home Administration office, died Easter Sunday at Sioux City St. Luke's Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Milo Morris officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under the direction of the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday and may meet with the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. There will be a prayer service for the family at 8 p.m.
Mr. Elzenga was born Feb. 2, 1942, at Rock Rapids, a son of John and Hazel Pals Elzenga.
He married Judy Harms June 13, 1964, at George. He graduated from Rock Rapids High School and in 1966 from South Dakota State, Brookings, with A BA. He came to LeMars in 1967.
Mr. Elenzga was active in the LeMars Jaycees and was a member of the Elks lodge.
Survivors are his wife, Judy, of LeMars; two daughters, Jodi, 3 and Jana, 1, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Elzenga of Rock Rapids; a brother Roger of Windom, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Gene (Elaine) Mackey of Fonda.
