Wilma R. Zimmerman
ARCHER--Wilma R. (Saunders) Zimmerman, 84, of Archer, and a former Merrill and LeMars resident, died Sunday, May 25, 2000, at Northwest Iowa Health Care Center in Sheldon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Zimmerman.

Wilma R. (Saunders) Zimmerman, the daughter of John A. and Florence Ray was born on April 13, 1916, at Manilla, Ia. At the age of seven years old Wilma was adopted by John and Marie Saunders. She lived her youth and received her education at Manilla, graduating from Manilla High School. She continued her education at Westmar College at LeMars, Iowa.
She was married to Roy D. Zimmerman on June 15, 1939 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. Following their marriage they farmed in the Merrill and LeMars areas prior to residing in southern Minnesota. They moved to Sheldon in 1963 and later moved to their home in Archer in 1969. Wilma had been employed at the Sheldon Community Hospital for 21 years. She died at the Northwest Iowa Health Center at Sheldon, Iowa on May 25, 2000.
Wilma is survived by her children: Deloit (Bud) and Janet Zimmerman of Kissee Mills, Mo., Wayland (Sam) and Sue Zimmerman of Sioux City, Ia., Beth and Ron Honkomp of Ashton, Ia., and Curtis and Jane of Castle Rock, Colorado.; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Ray Saunders of Manilla, Iowa and one sister, Gladys Hanson of Denison, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Margaret; and two brothers, Glenn and Meyer Ray.
Wilma was a member of the Archer United Methodist Church. Special interests of Wilma's included gardening, embroidery and crocheting.
