Nellie Kehrberg Succumbs; Was Active Club Member
Nellie Kehrberg, 85, a resident at Brentwood the last two years and nine months, died Sunday (Dec. 12, 1976) at the center after an illness of several years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist church, LeMars, with Rev. Everett Staats officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Merrill, under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
The former Nellie Irene Donlin, she was born Aug. 17, 1891, at Marcus, the eldest daughter of Joseph and Martha Woodall Donlin.
She received her education at Marcus and Morningside college and taught in Plymouth county rural schools prior to her marriage.
She was married Nov. 20, 1912, at Merrill, to Herbert E. Kehrberg. They farmed near Merrill until 1951 when they retired to LeMars.
Mr. Kehrberg died in 1957. She also was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Kehrberg was a member of the First United Methodist church, a life member of the United Methodist women, and a member of the order of Eastern Star, Merrill camp of Royal Neighbors, LeMars Sunshine club, Tuesday club at Merrill and had served on the Plymouth county board of education for 18 years.
Survivors are a son Herbert F. (Bud) Kehrberg of Merrill; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Tschampel, Merrill; Mrs. Darrel (Irene) Hermann, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Donald (Darlene) Fischer of LeMars.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Alvin Winterfeld, Craig, and a brother Jay T. Donlin, Merrill.

LE MARS, Iowa—Mrs. Herbert Kehrberg, 85, LeMars, died Dec. 12, 1976, at a LeMars nursing home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Dec. 15, at the First United Methodist church with the Rev. Everett Staats officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery at Merrill will be under the direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kehrberg, the former Nellie Donlin, was born Aug. 17, 1891, in Marcus. She taught in rural Plymouth County schools before her marriage to Mr. Kehrberg, Nov. 20, 1912, in Merrill.
The couple farmed near Merrill until moving to LeMars in 1951. Her husband died in 1957.
