FRED RENKEN
Fred J. Renken, 69, LeMars, a LeMars native and former businessman and car dealer, died Monday (April 12, 1976) at Floyd Valley Hospital. His death was unexpected. He had been hospitalized only an hour before his death.
He was a son of John and Katherine Lubben Renken, born Sept. 25, 1906, in LeMars. He lived at Lincoln, Neb., from 1936 until 1948 when he returned to LeMars. He had lived here since.
Mr. Renken had operated the Dodge car dealership in LeMars at one time and in later years he was employed at Valley Finance. He was retired.
His marriage to Tena Johnson took place April 22, 1928, in Grant township, rural LeMars. He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars. Rev. Arnold Imbrock will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under the direction of Mauer funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Tena, LeMars; three sons, Jack Renken, of Maryville, N.D., Keith Renken of Arcadia, Calif., and Col. Randall Renken, Tindall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla.; nine grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Alice) Frerichs, Sioux City, and Mrs. LeRoy (Vivian) Lang, LeMars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brothers.
