ELMER BROWN

Elmer Brown, 88, Route 2, Merrill, lifelong rural Merrill resident, died Wednesday (Dec. 9, 1987) at Sioux City St. Luke's Regional Medical Center.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Adaville United Methodist Church, rural Merrill. Rev. Bob Davis will officiate and burial will be in rural Merrill Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Brown was born Feb. 21, 1899, at Palms, Calif., to Charles and Edith Bristow Brown. He came to Plymouth County at the age of 2 and lived since that time at rural Merrill. He was a retired farmer.

His marriage to Gertrude Morehead took place Dec. 16, 1920, at Adaville. He was a member of the Adaville United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors are his wife, Gertrude of Merrill and two sons, Merlin Brown of Merrill and Kenneth Brown of LeMars; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
