ALBERT C. OLSON

Albert C. Olson, 76, of Seney, died Friday, Feb. 7, 1997, of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Olson was born April 9, 1920, at Windom, Minn., the son of Ole Ben and Alvina (Rothbart) Olson. He moved with his family to Seney at the age of 2. He attended rural school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 until 1945. On Oct. 29, 1948, he married Norma Ehlers at Seney.

He was in the trucking business for some 40 years as a owner/operator. At the time of his death he was working as a security officer with the rank of lieutenant for Wells Fargo at Wells Dairy in LeMars. Mrs. Olson died March 26, 1995.

Mr. Olson was a 50-year plus member of the Seney United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Wasmer American Legion Post 241 of LeMars and a member of F.O.E. 1381 of LeMars.

Survivors include one son, Gene and his wife, Sharon, of Seney; three daughters, Pat and her husband, Mike Stinton of LeMars, Cindy Olson of Seney, and Alicia and her husband, Dave Alvey, of LeMars; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Olson and his wife, Arlene, of LeMars and Calmer Olson and his wife, Theda, of Seney; and one sister, Alma Willer of LeMars.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Fred and Lawrence, and two sisters, Violet Heien and Margaret Olson.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Seney United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens at LeMars with graveside military rites conduced by Wasmer American Legion Post 241. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today (Monday), with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Pallbearers will be Terry Olson, Kevin Olson, Ray Dreckman, Elvin Shepherd, Joe DeYoung and Rick Erickson.
