LE MARS, Iowa -- Lucille Mae Krueger, 91, of Le Mars died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Lucille Mae Muecke was born Aug. 29, 1911, on the family farm in Lincoln Township, rural Plymouth County, Iowa, to Fred and Jennie (Nelson) Muecke. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa, on Oct. 15, 1911, and confirmed April 5, 1925. She attended country school in Lincoln Township and graduated from Hinton High School. She taught country school in Lincoln Township, then decided to continue her education by attending colleges in Cedar Falls and Iowa Falls, Iowa. Following graduation from college, she returned to Sioux City and began teaching for Sioux City Public Schools. She had taught in several elementary schools in Sioux City and retired in 1975.

On Feb. 19, 1977, she was united in marriage to Ernest Krueger at Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds. Ernest passed away in February 1987. She moved to Le Mars in 1992, and for the past several years made her home at The Abbey in Le Mars.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting. She loved to travel and had traveled throughout the U.S., Mexico and Israel. She had been a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds, where she taught Sunday school and participated with the quilting club and ladies aid. For the past 10 years, she belonged to Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of Sarah Circle.

Survivors include two nephews and their wives, Darvin and Jane Petersen of Merrill, Iowa, and Melfred "Bud" and Marlene Petersen of Hinton; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Petersen.

Pallbearers will be Michael Petersen, Miles Petersen, Mark Petersen, Marlo Petersen, Roger Petersen and Kenneth Muecke.
