RALPH A. HEYL
Ralph A. Heyl, 81, of LeMars, died Tuesday (July 28, 1987) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a long illness.
He had farmed all his life in Plymouth County, moving to LeMars in 1960.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars, with Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Heyl was born July 1, 1906, in rural Plymouth county to the late George and Sophia Christiansen Heyl. He married Margaret Hoffman on July 6, 1927, in LeMars.
Mr. Heyl had farmed all his life in Plymouth County, retiring and moving into LeMars in 1960.
He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Heyl, of LeMars; a son, Milton of Sheldon; four daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Donna) Boetger of Akron, Mrs. Harlan (Eleanor) Ruble of Cherokee, Mrs. Ray (Beverly) Koopman of Falls City, Neb., and Mrs. Tom (Dorothy) Daily of Brunswick, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Iona) Baldwin of LeMars, and Mrs. Edward (Alma) Berry of Palm Springs, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
